Facade Design Engineer
Design and detail complex facade systems including curtain walls, structural glazing, unitized systems, and aluminium window systems for high-rise commercial and residential projects worldwide.
Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Revit
- Experience with curtain wall and unitized facade design
- Knowledge of structural calculations and wind load analysis
- Understanding of international building codes (BS, EN, ASTM)
- Experience with thermal and acoustic performance analysis
- Degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or Architecture
Responsibilities
- Design and develop facade systems for commercial and residential high-rise projects
- Perform structural calculations for mullions, transoms, and bracket systems
- Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications for fabrication
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and fabricators during project execution
- Review and validate shop drawings against design intent and building codes
- Conduct material selection and performance analysis for glass and aluminium systems
Skills
CAD Engineer
Create detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings for facade systems using AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks. Work closely with design engineers and fabricators.
Requirements
- Expert-level AutoCAD 2D and 3D skills
- Revit BIM modeling experience preferred
- Facade and curtain wall drawing experience
- Understanding of fabrication and assembly processes
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed shop drawings and fabrication drawings for facade elements
- Develop 3D models of facade assemblies for visualization and coordination
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications and industry standards
- Coordinate with design engineers to resolve technical detailing challenges
- Maintain drawing registers and manage revision control processes
- Generate BOQ and material take-off lists from approved drawings
